Després de la cerimònia ens quedarem al jardí per a una recepció d’unes 3 hores; no hi haurà taules assignades ni un banquet tradicional. Podeu seure on vulgueu i anar xerrant amb tothom, amb pauses per a les tradicions i els discursos.

(1) Quin és el codi de vestimenta?
Còctel. Black tie/esmòquing opcional si en teniu un i us ve de gust anar realment elegants, o molt menys formal si és com us sentiu còmodes. Vestits llargs o curts. Si teniu previst venir amb nosaltres després de les 23:00, porteu roba i sabates còmodes. Si porteu una bossa petita, podeu deixar els talons i les jaquetes a l’hotel abans de marxar, i ens assegurarem que us ho tornin l’endemà o els dies següents.
(2) Requisits alimentaris:
Si teniu alguna al·lèrgia alimentària o no mengeu certs aliments, aviseu-nos abans (si heu estat especialment insistents amb la vostra al·lèrgia als fruits secs, ja ho sabem).
(3) Regals?
Si veniu de fora (especialment els que viuen a Amèrica!) no volem rebre ni un cèntim vostre. Donada la manca de localització geogràfica de la nostra vida, hem decidit no fer una llista de regals tradicional (no volem emportar-nos una torradora a l’equipatge de mà).

Información práctica/Preguntas frecuentes
(1) ¿Cuál es el código de vestimenta?
Cóctel. Black tie/esmoquin opcional si tenéis uno y os apetece ir realmente elegantes, o mucho menos formal si es como os sentís cómodos. Vestidos largos o cortos. Si pensáis venir con nosotros después de las 23:00, traed ropa y zapatos cómodos. Si lleváis un bolso pequeño, podéis dejar los tacones y las chaquetas en el hotel antes de que salgamos, y nos aseguraremos de que os lo devuelvan al día siguiente o en los días siguientes.
(2) Requisitos alimentarios:
Si tenéis alguna alergia alimentaria o no coméis ciertos alimentos, avisadnos con antelación (si habéis sido especialmente insistentes con vuestra alergia a los frutos secos, ya lo sabemos).
(3) ¿Regalos?
Dado nuestro estilo de vida geográficamente deslocalizado, hemos decidido no hacer una lista de boda tradicional. De verdad, no queremos llevarnos una tostadora en el equipaje de mano.

We’re so happy you’ll be joining us! We want the evening to feel special yet relaxed with good food, drinks, music and time together.
After the ceremony we’ll stay in the garden for an hours-long continuous reception, there will be no assigned tables or traditional banquet. You can sit down wherever you like and mingle with pauses for traditions and speeches.

The weekend of the wedding
The weekend of the 25th-27th is La Mercè weekend, celebrating the Patron Saint of Barcelona with massive street festivities. There are multiple traditional Catalan events, activities & concerts that we would love to share with you.
You don’t really need to plan for them and will most likely run into them if you’re walking downtown, and we will coordinate which events we attend on Saturday afternoon/Sunday as the date nears.

Practical Info/FAQs
(1) What’s the dress-code?
Cocktail. Black-tie/Tuxedo optional if you own one and are feeling really fancy, or way less formal if that’s what makes you comfortable. If you plan to join us after 23:00, bring comfortable clothes & shoes. If you bring a small bag, you can leave heels, jackets at the hotel before we leave, and we will make sure it gets back to you the next day/s.
(2) Food requirements:
If you have a food allergy, or do not eat certain foods, let us know beforehand (if you have been particularly vocal about your nut allergy, we are already aware).
(3) Gifts?
If you are coming from abroad (& especially the Americans!) we don’t want to receive a single dime from you. Given our geographically-challenged lifestyle, we opted against a traditional wedding list. We really don’t want to take a waffle-maker with us in our carry-on bag.
If you really want, bring a small gift that meaningfully describes our relationship.
Some opinions about Barcelona
Moving Around Barcelona:
The most convenient way to move around the city is the metro, or walking. The metro will run 24-7 through La Mercè weekend, including the whole 24-26 night.
Getting to / from the airport:
Aerobús is easy: A1 serves T1 and A2 serves T2, and both run 24/7 to Plaça Catalunya. FREENOW (app for local taxis) and recently Uber work in Barcelona, after a rather tense history with the taxi guild (feel free to go on a news rabbit hole).
Safety:
While Barcelona is extremely safe in terms of violent crime, pickpocketing is extremely common. Be extremely cautious, do not have valuables in an outer pocket in a backpack, do not leave anything unattended. A fanny pack is a solution. Yes this can happen to you: multiple people attending the wedding have already been pickpocketed in Barcelona, and yes, these people have been all over the world without being pickpocketed. Barcelona is currently SOTA in PickPocketBench.
Where to eat & drink (& please don’t eat in “Las Ramblas”)
1881 / La Terrassa de les Indianes: Go for a drink and the port view; that’s really why we like it. Plaça de Pau Vila, 3, Barceloneta.
La Cova Fumada: Tiny, old school and no fuss. Go for tapas and a bomba. Carrer del Baluard, 56, Barceloneta.
Pepa Tomate: Multiple locations, lunch special and traditional dishes (ask for “menu of the day” not just “menu”).
La Pallaresa: A classic for churros and very thick hot chocolate. Carrer de Petritxol, 11, Gòtic.
4 Gats: Historic Modernista place where Picasso used to hang around. We mostly like it for the room and the history.
7 Portes: Cool space and traditional food.
Can Paixano (El Xampanyet): Busy tapas bar, extremely crowded (it’s good and cheap) but very nice.
Bosc de les Fades: A completely ridiculous fairy forest bar next to the Wax Museum. Very touristy, but fun at least once. Passatge de la Banca, 7, Gòtic.
Bar Marsella: Old, scruffy and famous for absinthe. It feels like old Barcelona. Carrer de Sant Pau, 65, Raval.
Mercat de Santa Caterina: Grocery market with produce, tapas bars and prepared food to go.
Dr. Stravinsky, Bestiari, Bareto Olímpic, Boadas: A list of bars we like.
Compartir: On the fancy side, ~70 EUR/pax & needs reservation on weekends, it’s the tapas bar of a renowned many-Michelin-star chef.
La Central del Raval: Bookshop with a hidden courtyard café. Nice place to stop if you’re wandering around Raval. Carrer d’Elisabets, 6, Raval.
El Nacional: Beautiful food hall just off Passeig de Gràcia. Easy place to pop in for tapas or a drink. Passeig de Gràcia, 24 Bis, Eixample.
Some food we miss when we are abroad
Tapas of many sorts: There are many little nibbles to try, you’ll try most of them at the wedding! Truita de patates / tortilla de patatas (potato omelette). You’ll see it everywhere. Some are amazing; some are sad. Many types of cured meat (pernil/jamón) is the most famous one, fuet is the one we miss the most when abroad. Many types of seafood, such as chocos (fried cuttlefish), pop/pulpo (octopus), boquerones / seitons (anchovies) pickled in vinegar. They’re usually accompanied by pa amb tomàquet (tomato bread).
Paella & fideuà: Rice/pasta with seafood. For either one, we’d go somewhere that actually does rice and seafood rather than ordering one at random on La Rambla. Arròs negre, black from the cuttlefish ink, is our favorite variation.
Something sweet: Crema catalana, mel i mató, ensaïmada (the original version is not vegetarian, but most of them are nowadays, ask the bakery!), flan, and chocolate + churros. The chocolate should be thick enough to eat with a spoon.
